You-Ting Chung

​

She started to learn the percussion from year 2010 with Ms. Ko-Wei Chang and then completed her bachelor's degree in year 2016 with Prof. Pi-Tzu Yang at Tunghai University.

​

From 2014 to 2016, she was the academician of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, played with the conductors like Mei-An Chen and Cho-Liang Lin. In 2016, she was timpanist and percussionist by the National Taiwan Young Symphony Orchestra, played with conductors like Yao-Yu Wu and Kai-Hsi Fan and invited by Prof. Jung-Fu Hsu to participate the recording concert with Good TV. She also recieved the Excellence Award for Marimba Solo from the Taiwan Percussion Association. 

 

After the first master's degree (solo percussion), she is currently studying the second master's degree (orchestral playing) with Prof. Carlos Tarcha, Prof. Falko Oesterle and Mr. Peter Hänsch at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

Sie has participated in lots of masterclasses like Eric Sammut, Theodor Milkov, Jeon Geoffrey, Wieland Welzel and Rafael Haeger.

 

In 2018 she won the scholarship for female percussionists from the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Cologne University of Music and Dance Cologne. In 2020 she completed an internship at the "Neue Philharmonie Westfalen".

During her studies, she has worked with various ensembles and orchestras, such as the Studio Musikfabrik, ERMA Ensemble and the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, and also performed at various festivals, such as the Percussion Frstival Bochum and Ruhrtriennale Music Festival.
